| I had a meeting in the lab, and heard that the paper my colleague submitted a few weeks ago got rejected. I guess he didn't prepare for it much because the guy is really one of them, smart ones. After the professor heard the news, he grimaced, saying that he should've used some makeup or cosmetic surgery for the paper to make it look good. That is, the paper could've been accpeted if it is "well" written. This got me thinking that it's been a while since I wrote something in English except for the school assignment. Plus, it's also been a while since I read books that are not textbooks. Thus, chances are that I am going to face the same result as his.
Among stages of learning foreign language, the notorious part is writing in my opinion. It takes so much inputs to get outputs, which is very inefficient. In this case, the input means reading.
gotta read more... and write more. that's the answer. duh....

| Finally, I'm going to the US again. haha I got admitted to (and, of course, rejected from) several schools, but I think Gatech would be the best for me. Although it's way far from SD where my best MASA friends live, I'm glad that I can be in the same land with them. My flight will be in July or August. This time, I think I'm going to stay in the US for, at least, 5~7 years. well, we'll see.
Anyway, I can't wait to see you guys. =D | | |
| I made my own band. Well, of course, a band cannot be itself without other members. What I really wanted to do was playing the guitar in a band with friends before I head for the US. I started to look for members, and found two awesome people who sing very well. One of them was even trained and a person who wanted to be a professional singer. She accepted my offer at first, but refused to join at the last minute because of a bad circumstance of her family. The other one was not trained and was not a want-to-be-a-singer, though. He got talented, so I had one good male vocalist; then me, a guitarist. Still, we needed at least a drummer and bassist, or keyboardist and the second guitarist. Two of us were struggling to find the rest of members, but it was not easy. A couple of people on the web were in and out, but it was not working for some reasons. I had no choice but to look for people around me, like people when I was with at school. My friends cannot play the instruments as well as people I brought from the web can, but it was pretty much easier to get along as we already knew each other. Anyway, the band now has 5 members: a vocalist, guitarist, drummer, bassist and keyboardist. We are covering a couple of songs to practice and brush up; we all are rusty at playing. The songs are “Photograph – Nickelback,” “Too much love will kill you – Queen,” and “가리지좀마 – YB Band.” It feels great when you play the instrument with people, I mean in a band. It’s just awesome. =D
